When She Bleeds is an intimate exploration of the biological aspects of womanhood, deeply rooted in a personal narrative of returning to a place of medical trauma and wounded femininity. The visceral is brought to the fore by addressing the debilitating experience of endometriosis, a condition that remains underrepresented in both medical discourse and societal understanding. By transforming the pain of endometriosis into a visual narrative, the body is reclaimed as a site of resistance and resilience, urging viewers to confront the complexities of an illness that so often remains hidden beneath the surface. In doing so, the work acts as both a critique of the systemic neglect of women's health and a tribute to the quiet strength of those who endure it.
